wow.... that was a little rough, and you said alot of things i admitted about myself so what? I have made a point several times that im not trying to just date someone, i just want to meet more girls so there is a chance to find someone i get alot with. And i don't see myself as better than anyone else, otherwise i'd be a much happier person wouldn't I?

Firstly, similar interests is a must in a relationship thats going to work.
I didn't say every interest had to be the same, so if she likes jewlery u dont hav to to, but if u dont have some common ground where u can do stuff together on, talk about, etc etc etc, then ur gonna get bored of watching movies together real quick.

Second, panda u wouldn't hav a clue what the chick i was talking about thinks about steve, no one really does. So he should damn well find out, and that involves talking to her.

Third, relationships dont just happen, you DO have to look, and you have to put a fuck load of effort into it if anything is going to happen.
But ur a girl, so u wouldn't know anything about it :P
Guys are left to do all the work.

It's been 5 weeks of nothing because the extent of me knowing her is she is the subway chick... and i havent been to subway in 5 weeks because ive been at uni during the day.

I'd just like to get to know her.

Also, if you want something in life you have to go for it. You can't wait for fate to take control and drop some great girl in your lap. But at the same time, don't let searching for someone become your only goal in life.

Personally I think just enjoy yourself and try to get to know different people, if you meet someone you like make friends with her and go from there.

I dunno...

Well it looks like the general discussion is a rousing success!

I think Panda definately has a point that us lot often misjudge the intelligence of girls based on some rather silly things, and I know damn well that I've (sometimes intentionally, sometimes not so much) been an arse to people based on that at times, which is something I've been trying to make an effort to improve.

Hrm, must go... more commenting later... maybe...

"Oh Fudgey, I like you so much more now." lol, is that sarcastic?

As for your mum and dad, im sure they must hav similar interests, eg i bet ur dad doesn't mind board games either. If not... well then theyre the exception to the rule :P

"Plus, I think if it's been 5 weeks of nothing, it's not going to happen. If she liked him, she would have gone looking, right? I don't know about the rest of the female population, but I don't just ignore the guys I like..."
Yes yes, it would seem you are indeed the odd one out yet :P
I've never known a girl to "chase".

Blogger Ben said...

Actually Amanda I've always considered you to be quite intelligent.

Good monkey, now type what i say.

Cheesecake, munching on a Cheesecake... no no no. Ok.

I think you're looking too hard for a relationship. I know you keep saying that you want to meet new people and become friends etc etc, but even with that, it would seem you're looking too hard, well not looking but yeah. And in your search for someone seems to specific. It would seem you're looking for that someone that really doesnt exist in the woman race.

I also think Gemma 'subway chick' is a lost cause. As much as Steve seems to like her, i give him no hope. Mainly due to the fact he gave up without even doing much in the first place.

I think you do sorta need similar interests but as they always say opposites do attract. You can have nothign in common with someone and it could definately work in my opinion.

When i started dating sean, it kinda just fell into place. Yeah i liked him but i wasnt looking to start something with him. And Sean was no not the person i was looking for. I was always into the punkish, dreddie, beanie guys... look at sean... nothing. But hey ive almost got 3 years under my belt with him (having been on and off twice) but yeah. Someone will eventually fall into place with Steve whether they have similar interests or not. If you really like the person, you'd most likely spend time doing/learning each others interests and getting to enjoy them anyway.

Panda and Fudge are right. Some of you do see yourselves more superior than others. And it makes the other people feel like their worthless dumb pieces of shit that you found in the gutter and called your friends. Everyone is intelligent in their own way. Some people are just too blind to see it.

Jason is also right on Pandas comment. I think people do misjudge the intelligence of women. Yes alot of us say the most dickiest things ever. It doesnt make us un-intelligent. Males too say stupid things, its just others tend to pick on certain people because they're easy targets.

I came runner-up for DUX in year 11 along with 4 or so other people behind Meg Bielken. And i also won the maths award for that year. I bet most people think im not that intelligent tho. But then i went shit in year 12, mostly cause i couldnt be fucked anymore.

AND artists are intelligent!

I know heaps of women that have 'chased' men. Women also do some of the work. I think it comes hand in hand and depends on the person(s). So no Fudge, Panda is not the odd one out. And Amanda i think you're intelligent too :)

...munching on a cheesecake, cheesecake shop! And holy shit that was long.

Blogger Steve said...

Ok. Again i'm not just trying to find a relationship but i do want to expand my social circle and get to know more people... currently the only female freinds i have are you three who you know who you are lol. Artist ability is not a form of intelligence. It is a skill. It's different. I'm not saying its a bad thing i'm just saying its different. I repeat though, it doesnt make you more intelligent, it just has no bearing on the fact. I know your not stupid erin and i haven't ever thought that. I know for a fact that there are plenty of people at uni that don't deserve to be there because school marks don't mean much either. Remember i nearly failed year 10 and if i had i doubt i would have done it again.

If i thought myself to be superior to any of you then i wouldn't ask you all for advice all the time. I'm sorry if it comes across that way.

Back to where i started anyway... I wish I could talk to more people that's all. I dont get a chance to meet people really, or maybe i'm just not very good at it. It's not like i have been actively trying too hard, i just complain about it alot on here.

hmm what else... Oh yes, similar interests is a must, although it doesn't have to be every detail, just generally have to enjoy doing the same kind of things otherwise there is nothing to do with each other. Of course differences are needed too because you need something to talk about, no use in knowing all the same things.

PI IS EXACTLY 3!

Blogger Steve said...

According to a discrepancy on the lecture notes for stat mech tday pi is exactly 4... somehow 8/pi got changed into a 2 for no reason at all. But that lecturer is an idiot. I think a sheep could do a better job of teaching the subject than him, that said it would be a whole lot better to spend the time we are meant to be in that class reading a textbook.

Hmm strange how i ended up on that just because you said pi is exactly 3.

Erin, do you think you would be with duncan if you didnt get back with sean?

5:41 PM
Blogger Erin said...

Yes i think i would be. Although as i found out yesterday Duncan is being posted to Darwin in 6 weeks, so i doubt it woulda lasted long. (same problem as Amy and Damien)

Technically he isn't officailly with her I have heard so I prolly would kiss him if he went to... But then afterwards I would prolly feel weird bout it, but then again it depends what happens after the kiss... :P

Blogger Steve said...

Ok Caz,

Ok, what highschool crush would you least like people reading this to find out about?

11:00 PM
Blogger Steve said...

Actually steve your view of "intelligence" is outdated.
The old view of intelligence pretty much takes ur iq from science/maths/logical reasoning ability, however there is now a growing group of people who believe theres up to 10 different intelligences and that it needs to be accepted mainstream.
If i could remember them i'd list them but i cant and its 11:30pm and i cant be bothered going and finding the book with them in it.
Anyway, basically it comes down to the fact that artists can be quite intelligent.
Also, your argument that its a skill is invalid, maths and science and even logical reasoning is a skill also, and just like drawing or painting can be trained by doing it a lot.
And its not just that you remember rules or formulas or anything better when u do it enough, it actually develops certain areas of your brain more, just like drawing or painting does. Maths/science/etc develops the left side more and drawing/painting/createvity/etc is more right brain.

Its just like uo...
*Your skill in Logical Reasoning has gone up by 0.1%. It is now 77.5%*

The crush I wouldn't want you guys to know about. Well since he's part of the group, I guess it would be Scott. Had a bit of a thing for him for a lil while in highschool. I think I've told u that before tho.

Hey how come noone's truth or dared Steve yet? Afterall he started it. I would, but I never think of anything good on the spot like that.

Blogger caz said...

ah screw it, Steve truth or dare...

Someone else can fill in the blanks.

9:46 AM
Blogger Amy said...

I kinda want to pick dare...

10:27 AM
Blogger Steve said...

I know the whole left side of the brain right side of the brain thing. But iq tests they design for children don't test anything that you need to learn to find out. In fact most iq tests test your recognition of patterns etc. i never said that artists arent intelligent. But i will never call someone who can paint a picture but can't comprehend the concept of sarcasm, as an intellectual.

Amy did you pick dare or you just want to? You don't get allocated a dare until you are sure of it.

wow, someone discussed.... albeit it was one word. Davies sucks balls too...

And i have absolutely no balls when it comes to chicks.

12:01 PM
Blogger caz said...

Why does Davies suck balls?

1:00 PM
Blogger Jason said...

Can't say I've ever been overly fond of Davies. I think perhaps the attempt at being classier than the other venues in Frankston irritates me somewhat. Plus the layout isn't particularly great, but nyeh.

3:37 PM
Blogger Steve said...

The only thing that really annoys me about davies is the size of the dance floor... and the fact that there is so much room in the restaurant part of it which goes to waste. Thus reducing the capacity and making huge lines outside because everyone can't fit in.
