Victoria, The Garden State

Yesterday was by far the most random day ever. During our wednesday night drinking session since thursday was Australia Day we did our random phoning thing. And ended up talking to one of cara's freinds in bendigo so we said we are going to bendigo, because it seemed like a good idea at the time. But then we spoke to another one of cara's friends from croyden park and told her that we would pick her up on the way to bendigo. So i stopped drinking at around 2am so i could drive in the early morning to bendigo. At almost 5am we left my house on a 7 hour 350-400km drive. At whatever time it was when we found croyden park and phoned up this chick again and said we were outside she almost freaked out because didnt beleive us. So after a little convincing she came out to the car and we were on our way to bendigo. After several stops at servo's and maccas for breakfast we were 70 km from bendigo in the middle of absolutel nowhere with nothing but a long road and trees in all directions i decided i needed a powernap or we would die because i kept shutting my eyes for a second and finding the odometer had changed notable during that fraction of a second. We got out of the car where a few people peed in this place called woodend or something to that effect. It was 9am the sun hadnt been up for long and there was road going both directions with nobody else possibly in sight, and just trees all around us. So in the spirit of "Garden State" I stood facing the trees and cooeed as loud as i could and then got back in the car for my nap. Strangly, two cyclists came into sight, rode past and off over the hill. It was around that point in which my mother called wondering what had happened to the house and where were we etc etc. This was the turning point of the excitement as i thought i might need to find somewhere new to live. It's ok now.

We turned around started driving back, stopped at a mcdonalds car park in which i had my powernap then got lost in melbourne trying to get to croyden park to drop off heather where we found her then got everyone home and i was home just before lunchtime.

The randomness doesnt stop there. Later that day we decided to go sit on the beach in mornington to watch the storm that was coming, because it was a hot day with lightning. But after just sitting on the beach amongst the other heaps of people there cooling off it started pissing down. Heavy, painful rain. We ran for cover and stood there half drenched already. Then in the spirit of that morning decided something unusual was in order. I took off my shirt and amy put it under hers because she has a towel around her to keep her dry, then jason and fudge followed and we stashed stuff in the car and then just went back out to watch the storm. We all got absolutely drenched but it was awesome to watch the storm from a lookout point in the rain, then just as the storm calmed down, the Australia Day fireworks started. It was by far the most awesome day in shitlong.
